Ping services allow you to automatically ping your blog posts to blog directories and search engines so that they know that your blog has been updated and can be indexed. The larger your ping list, the more likely you are to receive visitors from those sources. Just make sure that you do not double ping to the ping sites because then your site can quickly be banned from those ping sites and that would be a shame. We have therefore left out ping services such as pinggoat and ping-o-matic in the list below, because otherwise your blog will be double pinned. In addition, WordPress bloggers must use the WordPress Ping Optimizer pluginto make sure they don’t ping their items too much. If you update an article, your site will automatically be pinged again and if you do this too often you will get a ban.
